Debriefing Log
Summary:
In typical sleazy Sid Gamberi form, the team is given a rush job to destroy a bunch of plants and animals out in outlying Ares biodome. But first they have to collect a specific toxin.

Fortunately the old hazardous waste processing center where it was located was in Desolation Angels gang territory. The party called Becky99 and got her blessing provided they didn’t hurt any of the locals. After bargaining with the community leaders, the team left with a heavy drum of agent orange.

Challenger failed to find a way out of the Zone for his massive Strumwagen and proceeds to a Lone Star checkpoint. When Wu’s fake SIN was flagged, he paid a hefty bribe to avoid trouble.

Once out of town with the toxin, the team scouted the massive domed farm. Then they moved into position. Wu’s spirit engaged the corporate spirit and drew it away from the site. Lennie snuck up and over the fence and broke into a parked car. Then he rigged it to crash into the main entrance. The circling track drone opened fire and stuck Lennie before Challenger’s Steel Lynx filled the parking loss with smoke grenades. Lenny limped away to safety. Simultaneously, Wu levitated Ashe and himself over the dome with the toxin. Ashe used a home-brewed acid concoction to open the plexiglass and the water reservoir. They dumped in the toxin and fled to the rendezvous point.

The Steel Lynx poured HE grenades on the site to cover the team’s exit. The expensive drone was then surrounded by manifest spirits an an astral mage with a HTR team en route…

Since we ran out of time, I didn’t want to destroy such an important piece of gear offscreen. Therefore, the following applies to Challenger:
Warrant. Challenger is Wanted by Lone Star/Knight Errant/Ares for his role in attacking the farm. His national SIN is burnt meaning any attempt to use it (or attached licenses) with the listed corporations will likely lead to arrest. Vehicles matching his description leaving the CZ will be scrutinized for the next month. To avoid this, the vehicle will need a low lifestyle (or better) safe house for one month. Afterward, the vehicle requires 1,000 nuyen worth of cosmetic modifications, a spoof chip, and morphing license plate to cross any CZ check points. Challenger’s physical likeness also needs to be disguised for the next month if subject to a SIN check or even random facial recognition scans in a AA+ area.

Debriefing Log
Summary:
The team took a job in Kansas city for a fixer named Barbecue Bob. Bob introduced the team to Mark Easton and Sara Garson, the manager and personal assistant to a Maria Mercurial Tribute artist named Synthia Silverstone. Synthia went missing from her dressing room and Mark hires the runners to find her and make sure that no news about her disappearance leaks to the public.

The team searched her dressing room and the amphitheater for clues about her disappearance and discovered that she had walked out of the building to a nearby highway. There, she hitched a ride with Brian Burns, the manager for the Flying Tigers urban brawl team. News reports led them to the Kansas speedway, where the body of Burns was found with his car. He was killed with an eyeliner pencil. Searching the area, they learned that an Urban Brawl biker named Johnny gave her a ride to the Bartle Hall convention center.

Chasing the leads to Bartle hall, they found that the KC Gamer Convention 2077 had also been marred with violence, as the body of Janey Martin was found strangled in a bathroom, stripped of her clothing. Checking the cameras and interviewing Janey’s friends led them to discover that Synthia was behind the murder. Using spirits to search for Ms. Silverstone, they found an abandoned campus warehouse nearby that led the team to her.

The basement of the warehouse was the domain of a toxic shaman. Dispatching the shaman and his spirits allowed the team to recover Synthia. They returned her to Mark and Sara. Because the team erased any evidence of Ms. Silverstone committing the murders, they received the bonus pay that Mark had promised. Her friends took her back to her hotel, and the team returned to Chicago. After arriving home, they picked up a news report that Synthia Silverstone was being detained by the KCPD for the murder of her personal assistant, Sara Garson.

Summary:
Spoilers beyond! During another flirtatious interview with Lennie and Sarah Silverleaf, she hired the team to explore the underwater Yamatetsu Research Facility. The friendly dwarf rigger Goober supplied a sub and underwater gear. Despite tightly wound nerves from several eerie, watery shadows, the runners parlayed with a curious youth named on Otoko in one of the modules. Only after she disappeared through an airlock without diving gear did they realize she wasn’t the norm they thought.

The team swam to the main structure. Using a water spirit, Blaster rushed forward through the mazelike submerged portion. He came up in the manufacturing module and found a huge man in simple clothes wielding a glaive and growling threateningly in Japanese. Blaster understood just enough to agree to a battle for dominance. Following a titanic battle between melee specialists, Blaster collapsed from an unknown toxin while the brute transformed into a dead fish-person.

The team emerged from the nearby pool with both warriors down and paused just long enough for Dr. Urashima to rush forward demanding an end to hostilities. Together they negotiated to protect the merrow and return Urashima to Renraku.

Summary:
Spoilers beyond! Sid Gambetti was being blackmailed for fixing a fight and hired the teams to find the leak and plug it. The team followed the trail to whatever you call worse than a dive bar and engaged the Chemical Boyz gang with such awesome firepower they nearly leveled the building. The ganger boss barely escaped out a backdoor leading to a pursuit and bloody urban firefight that left several runners wounded and all gangers dead. His commlink had a name and commcode.

The team paid Quantum Princess to trace the commcode to a low rent complex belonging to a washed up MMA fighter, Miguel Garza. Garza didn’t take kindly to intruders and fought like a cornered, combat-stim addicted wolverine. The runners licked their wounds and argued about the heavy-handed approach as they returned the damaging recordings to Sid. (They ran out of time to investigate who made the original recordings.)

Debriefing Log

Summary:
Spoilers beyond! Sarah Silverleaf, seductive elven Ms. Johnson, assembled the full team for some CZ mayhem. The job was straightforward: break into an old pharmaceutical company and remove any ownership or research data. Unfortunately, Valley Rose Pharmaceuticals festered on the edge of a nuclear blast zone. She pointed them to the arrogant troll mage, Lothan the Wise, for the skinny on the area.

The team found the troll at the punk bar, Miller’s Pub, in the Zone near Lake Michigan and learned of his grudge with VRP’s resident toxic mage, the Founder. Lothan offered extra nuyen for a focus lost to the corrupted mage.

After paying a premium for armored rad suits, the runners rumbled into the zone in their pair of heavy trucks. Outside the warehouse, they found gangers on the roof and immediately immobilized them with gas grenades. A single ganger sniped Lenny as he approached, and the team launched into assault mode. Full auto fire and grenades ripped the building’s front apart. Joe, Lee Ray, and Crumbs rushed inside along with Smash’s Force 8 spirit. The Hot Dawgs gangers were rapidly put down.

The team moved downstairs and encountered the Founder. Lennie earned his respect early recognizing an Albert Einstein quote, but the dialogue was cut short by Lee Ray’s hostility. Despite his overcast acid stream spells and a pair of toxic spirits, the toxic mage quickly succumbed to the team’s firepower.

Debriefing Log

Summary:
Spoilers beyond! The team met with the fixer, Sid Gambetti, ringside after Matt Wrath soundly defeated his opponent. Sid pointed them to Martin Tate, a Truman Industries physician looking to expand clinics in the zone. Tasked with removing any property rights data from its antique servers, the team ventured to an old trideo studio.

They were ambushed in the jungle-themed lobby but easily repelled a hellhound and 2 guys in the rafters attacking with bows and arrows! Joe used his grapple gun to get in close but one managed to escape into the sound stage beyond.

The other runners rushed forward into a jungle village scene with an ork female in a Tarzan get up directing a band of savages. Lennie expertly shot out the supports to a fake tree, dropping it onto the charging savages. Challenger launched a nausea grenade in the middle of the melee, while fighting off matrix attacks form an unknown foe. As the fight turned toward the runners, it became obvious that the ork woman was a technomancer! Challenger missed her with a nausea grenade and got angry. He destroyed much of the room and the woman with a barrage of frag grenades from his automatic launcher.

Dropping from the ceiling amongst the team, Neil the Ork Barbarian, battled to avenge his love. After a fierce ax versus sword battle, Joe and Wu were able to defeat the massive foe.

With the interior in smoking ruins and all inhabitants defeated, they went to find the servers. It turned out they were in the basement turned landfill/latrine. As the technician, only Lennie braved the filth… and was attacked by a pair of devil rats. Unable to maneuver but thickly armored, he was slowly savaged until nearly dead. Challenger’s drone and Joe advanced through the muck just in time to off the rats. Beyond the team found the files and left filthy.

(Afterward, Lennie decided to check out the trideo recordings they grabbed for Beckie99. In horror, he saw an employee ripped to shreds by a fleshform ant spirit. He kept his stomach from upending itself, but only just.)

Debriefing Log

Summary:
Quantum Princess hired the team to do a test run at Midway Airfield during a blizzard. After a messy firefight, they finished the mission just before reinforcements arrived. Then, the got the real job: investigate Janus Industries in the CZ. En route, QP informed them that a cop named Detective Nick Ryder was looking for a missing person who had be spotted around the area.

After a creepy scouting of the JI lab, the team realized that their missing kid was a clone lose in the Zone. Some excellent legwork revealed that the clone, Samantha, was working at a drug lab in the Maker Collective. They snuck into her squat and ambushed her, barely knocking her out with 4 highly equipped runners. Then Remo, a free data sprite, chimed in and ensured that the team was taking her to someone who wanted to help her.

Summary:
Gingersnap hired the team to track down a West Indian named Bembe. Once they found him, he asked for their help getting his boat back from local thugs. Blitzkrieg gunned the occupying gangers down with extreme prejudice. Bembe gratefully supplied the team with gear and details for their job: recon and possibly secure the cargo on a moving ship with a battle boat escort.

The team decided to ignore Bembe’s advice and directly assault the escort. They approached on Pretzel’s levitated sheet of metal and her spirit’s concealment. Blitzkrieg and Yngvar landed the first shots but not enough to disable the heavily armored craft. It responded with an anti-vehicle rocket that Pretzel failed to evade. The explosion killed Blitzkrieg immediately. Sparks and Pretzel were critically wounded and unconscious. Yngvar was conscious but hit the water hard and was too disoriented to swim to the surface. She saw an ominous, dark shape swim by as his lungs filled with water and darkness took him.

(Three players decided to burn Edge to keep their characters alive. Blitzkrieg perished.)

Summary:
After capturing her in their last mission, the runners were hired to break Gingersnap out of a Puerto Rican prison. Following comprehensive legwork, the team learned of a hidden service entrance only to have a lucky guard spot them sneaking in. Despite getting ambushed in the elevator shaft, Spectre (and his milspec armor – not my doing!) waded through the firefight and pulled Gingersnap out. They evac’ed to Lota’s submersible (!) Nightrunner and met up with Kitty Fisher.

At the meet, their Johnson ambushed the team but quickly fell to their combined firepower. Gingersnap escaped unscathed and grateful.

Summary:
The team traveled to Houston and took the job. They were duped by the local Triad and barely made it to their ship before it departed. Arkadyia, the team’s rigger, souped up the freighter’s sensors, speed and added a rigger interface. They emerged unscathed through a hurricane only to be ambushed by the Gingerbread Gang pirates. Catching the team separated, the pirates were manageable but their leader, Gingersnap, proved too formidable. Three-quarters of the runners were unconscious from neuro-stun grenades when Arkadyia decided to go out in a blaze of glory. He detonated 5 kilos of explosive with himself in the center! (Gingersnap got away but left the runners be.)
